概要
This study aims to understand the actions currently taken by businesses to achieve biodiversity goals and the challenges that hinder effective action. The study employed detailed semi-structured interviews with leading business-biodiversity professionals and consultants to do so. The authors found that the scale and type of action varied by sector and was largely driven by the risks of inaction. They also found that cost-effectiveness was important to businesses but the limited quantification of the economic consequences of biodiversity action hindered uptake. Whilst there are challenges that impede business engagement with biodiversity, opportunities to address them exist.
