概要

The study focussed on evaluating the impact of sustainability schemes specifically of Fairtrade, Organic and UTZ on the nutrition and dietary quality of coffee farmers in Uganda through systematic household surveys and modelling approaches. Comparison between certified and non-certified groups was undertaken. The results show that sustainability standards have positive impacts on food security, nutrition and quality of diet. It also indicates that certification leads to increases in household income and thereby gender equity, both of which have positive impact on nutrition.
