The study looks into the rise of the Fairtrade banana value chain in Colombia's Uraba region and how it intersects with the local history of violence and labour relations. It looks both at the possible benefits that Fairtrade could drive but also cautions against how local worker-management relations are negotiated in the context of the region's history and local development needs.
